BMD Constructions and Georgiou Group were awarded The Mitchell Extension Joint Venture (MEJV) project, valued at $162 million, which will kick off in April 2021.
This is another massive project for Perth that will extend the northern transport links, improving access, safety, and travel times for the suburbs of Butler, Yanchep, Alkimos, and Eglinton.
On top of that, it will create jobs and contracts until mid-2023 for local businesses and individuals. Initial reports expect 1,200 direct and indirect jobs to be created during construction.
Mainroads undertook Aboriginal and historic heritage surveys throughout 2018-19 which identified an Aboriginal site that will be avoided during construction.
