Kuuwa is a Western Australian majority Indigenous owned business.
Proud of our Western Australian heritage, we chose the name “Kuuwa,” which means West. From our humble beginnings, we have dedicated ourselves to building a company based on reliability and excellent customer service.
Our focus is centered on our customers and providing exceptional service. However, our commitment goes beyond business success. We are driven by a mission to make lives and communities better, investing our profits in community projects, education, job creation, and apprenticeships—particularly for Indigenous Australians in local communities and our young people.
As a subsidiary of Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC), we align with their vision and purpose. BTAC serves as the Registered Native Title Body Corporate (RNTBC) for the Thalanyji People, representing, protecting, and supporting their interests. Since its formation in 2008, following the native title determination over 11,120 square kilometers of land in and around Onslow, Western Australia, BTAC has been dedicated to managing native title and facilitating social, economic, and cultural development for Thalanyji members.
Through our affiliation with BTAC, we are proud to contribute to their mission and support the aspirations of the Thalanyji People. Together, we are working towards a future of empowerment, self-determination, and sustainable growth for Indigenous communities and businesses in Western Australia.
Together, we dream of a future where their identity remains strong, self-reliance increases, and they are in control of their own destiny, enabling all members to lead secure and comfortable lives.

“
We are passionate about investing into Indigenous communities and empowering them with the resources they need to support and improve their communities.
It is important to us that we engage and partner with local traditional owner groups so that we are contributing to outcome focused projects, rather than cash handouts that have little impact.
By working with the communities directly we are confident that we are investing in their long term success and growth.
Kuuwa Managing Director – Wes Chapman
Kuuwa is proudly bridging the gap between Indigenous businesses and the resource and construction sectors.
Kuuwa acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
